Design Perspective: Giulia Molteni, Molteni&C

Molteni&C|Dada has a rich heritage as a taste maker, setting the standard for elegance and quality. Tell us more about your vision and how you approach design.
Molteni Group was founded in 1934, and we have been in the design business ever since. We have four different brands that are active in all fields of interior design, from residential furniture with Molteni&C to kitchens with Dada, to office furniture with Unifor and Citterio. We have always aimed at being at the forefront of technical innovation combined with timeless design elegance.

Today, Molteni Group is an example of entrepreneurial excellence. The Company has thus contributed to the growth of one of Italy’s most important industrial districts, Brianza.

When it comes to our brand’s story, passion and dedication play key roles and that it is due to the strong link we still have with our traditions, inherited from our parents and grandparents.

We truly think that the story of our family company is not very common; it is like having a mission that puts us a step forward.

What are the hallmarks of sophisticated, high-quality kitchen design? Our company is one of just a few to guarantee the entire production cycle is “made in Italy”: from the choice of materials right through to defining the product, thanks to production processes certified according to the most stringent international standards.

Design and experimentation have always been the hallmarks of Dada kitchens. Innovative, both functionally, aesthetically and technologically, they are the result of intense research and testing, carried out in cooperation with architects and designers. Thanks to state-of-the-art technological know-how, both in traditional woodworking and in the more innovative field of metals and new materials, Dada is able to satisfy specific design requirements. Exclusive, functional domestic spaces, where technology is key without being intrusive, for those who love their kitchen as the beating heart of their home.

Alongside its standard ranges, Dada also produces customized designs for special projects, even on a large scale. Specific customized models can be integrated into broader architectural contexts and eventually get introduced into the Dada collection.

Your brand is globally admired, but this is your first project in Hawai‘i. How does location inform your design process?
“Think global, act local” is one of our claims, explaining that our processes are 100% Made in Italy, which enables us to guarantee maximum quality while exporting and spreading our designs to markets all over the world. Over the years, the values we have been cultivating under the Molteni Group philosophy convey contemporary design, functionality and being at the forefront in promoting innovative solutions.

Our offerings embrace beauty and quality of Made in Italy, attention to detail and obsession for quality..

For three generations, Molteni Group has ranked among the world’s leaders in furnishing and design. Tell us more about how the brand has evolved to stay at the leading edge of modern design.
Molteni Group is now in its third generation. We all share the same values and the same goal: a knowledge passed down through the generations, an obsession for beauty, a dedication to our heritage that allow us to get a better understatement of what will happen in the future.

Tradition, research and innovation, quality reliability, durability and sustainability are our core values, combined to provide products that last in time.
